Toonspeak Young People's Theatre
Toonspeak Young People's Theatre is based in the Millburn Centre to the rear of the main building. At Toonspeak we provide drama and theatre activities for 11-25's living in the North of Glasgow. Our aim is that young people take an active role in the running of Toonspeak. We provide: Free weekly drama workshops, At least one large-scale production a year, An outreach programme of taster workshops and holiday activities, An empowerment programme (workshops designed by you in subjects like digital photography, animation and website design).
This summer Toonspeak mounted one of their most ambitious projects to date - a show, involving over 40 local young people, performed in a big top in the heart of the Royston Community at Glenconner Park.
Whether your interest is in acting, backstage, design or admin, if you are aged 11-25 and live in the north of Glasgow then Toonspeak is for you.
We are based in Royston but we run workshops and projects in Royston, Springburn, Sighthill, Blackhill, Barmulloch, Balornock, Milton, Possil and Ruchill.
Rosemount Lifelong Learning
Rosemount Lifelong Learning offer childcare and after-school care places to students and working families, and training courses for mothers in Computing, European Computer Driving Licence and English for Speakers of Other Languages. We now have a careers guidance service for people who are working but who are in low paid jobs. Family Literacy workers provide a new service for parents at the Flexi Centre and in nurseries in North Glasgow.
St Rochs Childcare Service
St. Roch’s Childcare Service aims to provide high quality care for children and young people, that is both affordable and flexible to the needs of all families, therefore allowing parents and carers the opportunity to return to or sustain employment, training or education.
In addition the service wishes to promote an environment, which encourages respect, mutual trust and openness, allowing children and young people the opportunities to develop as unique individuals with skills, which will enable them to become active participants in their community.
